C’mon. Admit it. Embarrasing though it may be, you probably have one. One of those films that by almost any standard of advantageous taste is considered to be pure trash — but you treasure it impartial the same. Well, “The Carpetbaggers” is my source of shame and delight. Yes, it’s cheap and tawdry, unintentionally comical at times, and held together (barely) by a script with many a line in need of a rewrite. It sports hair styles and costumes that, although undeniably lavish, are often anachronistic to the 1920’s and 1930’s (those decades in which the record is state) . Performances range from obscene and over-the-top to downright comatose. But this early 1960’s contribution to the breakdown of the American cinema’s once strict legal code never loses its ability to do what Hollywood does best — to entertain. It’s a film filled with a vast potpourri of characters ranging from an arrogant and ruthless Jason Cord (a wooden George Peppard) to a lushly lascivious Rina Marlowe (a questionably sexy Carroll Baker), from a charmingly unctuous (i.e., villanous) Dan Pierce (Bob Cummings) to a bubbling and bouncy Monica Winthrop Cord (a totally keen Elizabeth Ashley) . Classic character actors and actresses (e.g., Charles Lane, Tom Tully, Audrey Totter) abound. And Elmer Bernstein’s jazz bag boasts a main theme that is pulsatingly decadent. Yes, “The Carpetbaggers” is all flash and fire with very tiny substance. But I adore it. Can’t benefit myself.

This movie starts out with a bang in the first five minutes. Itkept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire movie. It is a movie that I have remembered since I saw it the very first time years ago. George Peppard and Carol Baker are at thier top performance levels, and the movie keeps intriguing with intricate subplots going at all times. Many reviews mention the tycoon who is cruel and calculating, the insights into the movie business, complex personal relationships, but few mention the situations that created these characteristics in him, one being a incident that is never totally shown or explained, but partially shown then implied, not explained thoroughly. This particular subplot may then gather missed and is psychologically of colossal impact if one looks for and finds it.

For music fans, the soundtrack is unbelievable, I have had it on Lp for almost 15 or more years, and it is one of very few soundtracks where I am willing to objective listen to the music without always seeing the movie, it is incredible all on it’s hold. Impartial on it’s enjoy, the music is well worth buying the movie. I sincerely devour Amazon for peaceful carrying what many might deem an frail, and outdated movie. I don’t enjoy times have changed that considerable, worthy of it would smooth apply today. For anyone that likes phychological plots and mystery this is a movie for you, even if not, the other subplots design it a very worthwhile movie to have. I would recommend it to anyone, and especially George Peppard fans. Destroy

I was actually hoping for this, as the forums of chat sites raged on about 4Kids making a Movie after Battle City, and they should do the same between Expansive Championship and Pharoah’s Memories. And it is, and it’s resplendent decent too.

Capsule Monsters appeared in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga orinigal Graphic Novels (Volumes 3,5,6) by Kazuki Takashi. They then made a not-so-succesful game for the PS2 system based on it. People enjoyed it, but didn’t want it to be taken far like they did with Dungeon Dice (the whole toy-line thing) . But I guess Kazuki Takashi (creator of Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga/Comic) decided to team up with 4Kids to obtain another lousy “Extra Portion in the Anime”.

Capsule Monsters orinigally aried in Ireland January 2006. People were apprehensive to bag out a fresh Yu-Gi-Oh! Series has hit! Some were gratified, others wern’t that crazy over it. But nobody had no warning about these episodes and almost about everyone missed the first two. But episode 3 & 4 were leaked on the internet, and then the series was stopped for some reason. It is said to be a 12-Episode Series and I guess there making it into a Movie.

Of course, instead of objective showing it to us as episodes 4Kids had to create it a Movie. And yes, for some reason, they slice out sceens from their contain work to do it explore more like a Movie. Thank God inside the DVD these scenes can be fond.

Now finally the storyline. Joey wins tickets for a vacation, and takes the whole gang + Grandpa to a nice relaxing ride. But when there notion crashes, a Pryamid is apt infront of them. Wierd since thier millions of miles develop Egypt, Joey enters it, nd the Gang follows. They have been transported to a Capsule Monster World, a game that Yugi was unbiased introducing the the Gang before they left. Now they Yugi, Tea, Joey, Tristan, and Grandpa must unlock the Capsules all over the world to unleash Duel Monsters and defend themselves from the other creatures of the world. But when they spy that if they beat 5 Challenges, they can go free. Now with thier Capsule Shooters ( A Capsule Monster version of the Duel disk ) the gang must defeat this villian and speed the world.

Some things puzzle me the most. This is that in the Theme Song that added pictures from each season, and has Dartz, Pegasus, Bakura, and Marik in the villian fragment of the Theme Song, even though we all know there used pictures and we highly doubt they’ll be in it. But this keeps are suspision up, and they might slice it out of the movie and honest have made it for when it aired. Kaiba will not appear in this Movie, sorry Seto fans.

So hopefully this will certain things up for you. Remove this DVD, if you can, and scrutinize it. It’s a ok series overall, and THANK GOD dosn’t focus around Duel Monsters like the rest of the series does.

Well-we all knew very well that 4KIDS had gotten at least “something” of a successful income from the mildly-famed or ghastly (depending on your acquire point of conception) Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: Pyramid of Light/Yu-Gi-Oh Hikari no Pyramid. Punch line? You really couldn’t query them “not” to pull something like that off again-at least not for a few “years,” and that turned out to be very, “very” honest.

I have personally seen portion of this twelve episode O.V.A. “movie” (made possible from downloads uploaded from Ireland television-where the first four episodes were aired in secret) entitled Yu-Gi-Oh Capsule Monsters-and handsome considerable, it’s everything you’d demand from 4KIDS, combining the not-so-decent writing from the American Edit version of the Doma Arc series, plus the elemental game properties featured in the Duelist Kingdom series.

Although the first impression of this anime series is corny (and perhaps even unsatisfying) the film does have its amusing parts, which include Yuugi’s friends doing a parody of “the can-can,” along with other various other forms of physical humor through-out the reveal. Moreover, it seems that Joey’s/Jounouchi’s “classical scenes of ignorance” never finish to satisfy, even in this. ^_^

It is mild unclear, however if Pegasus, Malik, Bakura, Kaiba or anyone else other than the “friendship” crew will be featured in this movie. One can only hope though… (if Amazon is legal in assuming that this is section “one” of a twelve episode series)

The DVD contains many monsters not seen ever before, in stunning animation, such as Aqua Madoor (a monster I have approach to cherish when it comes to the first line of defense in the card game) along with the iniquitous and deadly villain from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters 8: Reshef of Destruction video game (do I really need to say who exactly? ) . You will also recognize the return of stale favorites, including the Shadowy Magician and the Celtic Guardian, along with the sweet and irresistibly adorable and cuddly “Kuribo.” (:

Once again, this DVD will only be laughable to Yu-Gi-Oh fans and “them” alone-anyone else (above the age of thirteen or so) may be better off either starting at the beginning of the Yu-Gi-Oh: Duel Monsters series (un-cut version “highly” recommended) or honest steering positive from this DVD entirely.
